Finding Your Way Back to Self Love

ree

If you've been feeling a bit lost and are looking for ways to get back to yourself, you need to get a spiritual game plan together!

Many people feel it is just too overwhelming to go from struggling in the space they are in, to a lighter, brighter space filled with love, abundance, lightness and ease. But, in truth, the road back to self love doesn't have to be a difficult experience. In fact, it can be a beautiful and epic journey of a lifetime, when done in collaboration with your spiritual team!

Through the course of my work, I have found that when we feel we are lacking self-love, it is often related to varying degrees of disconnect from our soul journey. If we do not know ourselves, and I am talking about knowing the vastness of our spiritual selves, we cannot be expected to love ourselves fully. In addition, if we do not fully understand the lessons and challenges of our own unique journey, we can tend to enter a more rigid space of frustration, anger, or even self-loathing; constantly judging ourselves for the mistakes we have made and consequently spiraling down to lower and lower dimensions.

This is the disconnect I see most, so I am going to speak to that here.

Self love is not something that we typically re-discover overnight, but rather, for many it its the process of chipping away at old/outdated and limiting beliefs, of releasing your own wounds and healing all those aspects of self that have been lost or abandoned along the way, in this lifetime and in others. Under the spiritual guidance of your Angelic team you can start to uncover those areas, experiences, or relationships that are showing up for healing. And, as those areas heal and start to move out, they make room for new and healthy ways of being that are more in alignment with your current space. We always need to be in a process of matching our physical reality to our current vibration, with where we are at a given point in our lives and this is how we release stagnation, spiritually mature, and move on.

Developing and maintaining a consistent spiritual practice can help you release emotional blocks and reach new levels inner peace. I am not talking about hours and hours of meditation to start, but I am talking about a level of consistency in your approach. At the beginning, this can look like a 10 minute meditation every morning and 10 minutes before bed to journal and capture all of the things that were in your heart each day. If you struggle with meditation, use a guided meditation or gentle music until you feel ready to do it on your own. Meditation is the best way to develop a deeper awareness of, and connection to, our higher self. Have patience with this, but stay consistent. I promise it will help you love yourself more in ways that cannot be articulated with words.

You can also read spiritual books on personal growth, in moderation. Yogananda says " “It is not what you read that can give you liberation, but what you do with what you read.” I always really loved that, because, with regard to our spiritual journey, we always want to be in action; we want to be spiritual growth in action, engaging in actions of self-love. What I have found in working with clients to discover their own unique spiritual path over the years is that many empaths tend to get caught up, and even lost in the reading. And that can take on a life of its own and actually take place of taking action in their daily life. This is something to be aware of.

Set boundaries and lean into them, like pillars. Not with the intention of keeping other human beings out, but with the intention of holding yourself accountable for doing the things you want to do. Really be mindful of this - what is it that you really want to do? If you don't know, make a list and then start checking things off, one by one. And then create the space to do it. Let the list include whatever you want it to include, fun activities, classes you always wanted to take, a new sport, whatever. The only rule is that it must come from your heart. Creating boundaries could mean not answering the phone at a certain time, or turning off those notifications that are constantly dinging, or not meeting up with that friend that you really don't want to meet up with. We are living in a day and age where technology has the ability to bring people into our spaces 24/7 and it is up to each of us to determine how we want that to look for ourselves. And so these can all become distractions that can take you away from your true self, if you allow them to. And these things may seem small, but they chip away at our will over time, until, for some people, they become unrecognizable to who they once were. So have the discipline to create the space to do what you want to do.

Pay attention to your own dreams, as this is where we often receive specific important information from our spirit guides and clues to things we cannot or will not see in the waking hours. Dreams are hidden gems and they are a magical pathway back to self, always. And yes, every single dream is a message for you. I do many sessions on dream interpretation and there is always significant healings around the energies that are showing up in our dreams. Dreams contain a spiritual level of wisdom that can really help us move forward in our daily life. Keep a journal next to your bed and write your dreams down each morning before you even leave the bed. This practice alone has the potential to change your life.

Start to add new spiritual tools to your knowledge base. Always be willing to learn, and always actually be learning. How beautiful is the Universe? What can I do today to shift out of the space I am in? This mindset will really support you on your path to spiritual awakening, no matter where you may be along the way. The more spiritual tools you develop, and the more discipline you can apply, the more you will be able to see the bigger picture by transmuting your personal experiences and close relationships. Try different spiritual modalities and see what ones resonate with you the most. I personally have many that I lean into and use daily, but one that I really feel is for everyone is Healing with the Angels, which can help bring powerful positive energy into your life and help to heal any unresolved trauma. They also support you in reaching a deeper level of inner awareness and eventually, of inner power. And, of course, angels are here for all of us, regardless of our religious beliefs. If you know a little bit about my story, you know that I denied the Angels more times than I wish to admit. And yet, they have never left my side. I say this to start to give a glimpse into the magnitude of love that is present for each of us, if we know where to look and how to connect to the infinite pool of divine love.

Tap into your past lives to uncover the roots of different things that are presenting in your life at any given moment. Discovering and understanding some of your past lives can really help you to uncover a new level of compassion and love for yourself, once you start to understand the big picture of the journey of your soul. Anything we can do to understand the totality of ourselves on a soul level helps us to see ourselves through the eyes of the divine, and eventually to see the love and the light within us in new and profound ways.

If you are reading this and feeling like there is a mountain in front of you, just choose one thing on the list for now and work on it. And then, when you feel ready, choose another thing. Self love practices require compassion, grace, and some thoughtfulness to get into the space to accept all the love that is available to us. So, be gentle with yourself, but also, don't wait any longer to take the first step. Self-love is about getting out of the seemingly relentless cycle of not being in self-love.

And trust me, you got this. There is nothing that we are ever in, that we can't move out of with the right team and the right tools. Embracing authentic self-love through understanding your soul path in a meaningful way is the best way to release low self-esteem, to improve your mental health and to uncover and empower more of your true self in the process.

And that my friends, is what we are all here for.
